There are lots of ways to get started, just depends on which areas of workplace learning & performance you're most interested in.

The local ASTD chapters, including the Chicagoland Chapter, (CCASTD) provide professional development activities (I'm sorry you just missed our Career & Professional Development day!) - programs, event, networking opportunities, etc.

Our next networking event is in downtown Chicago on July 17th -- CCASTD Summer in the City -- a Chicago River cruise with Wendella Boats.

We also have the Workplace Learning & Performance Institute (WLPI) which offers classes on various learning & performance topics. You can register for one session or the entire series. WLPI starts up again in September.

CCASTD also has a Sales Training Forum, managed by Renie McClay and a Mentoring Program, managed by Stephanie Oakley.
